Pastoring a church is never easy. Even when it is a simple season it’s never an easy season. At your healthiest moments and in your most invigorating times of pastoral ministry, we know that being connected in a genuine community is key. But connecting can be hard when you’re not sure who you can trust. One thing is for certain, belonging to a community where the pressures of our calling and position are understood, where we can be vulnerable and honest with how we’re doing is vital to our health as pastors. Furthermore, having genuine relationships with others that care more about the person behind the title than the title in front of the person is necessary for long-term health. One element of what we aim to do at Pastor to Pastor is preserving those that are healthy. Let’s face it, no pastor set out to have a moral failure or end up making a character-shaking decision in their life. Every pastor we’ve ever had the honor of walking beside started out with a desire to honor God, love people, and grow the Kingdom of God. Somewhere along the way, something changed and there was nobody they trusted to help get them out of their dark, lonely, and isolated place and that is always where the enemy goes to work. At Pastor to Pastor we love helping Pastors stay healthy and we want to help you stay in a healthy place by giving a community to connect with. Whether it’s a scheduled zoom call with one of our leaders, a pastor’s retreat to get away for a few days, or just a phone call or text message, we want you to stay in the right place to lead the church God has called you to.

Did you know that over 50% of Pastors said that they would go into a different profession today if they could maintain the same financial status for their families? Meaning, that many Pastors are ready to quit. We know at some point everyone that has been in ministry for an extended time will relate to this in some way. Sometimes you find yourself feeling alone facing burnout and uncertain as to what the future holds. All you know is that you can’t keep doing ministry the way you’ve been doing it. In these seasons, you need someone to come alongside you to help you remember the call of God on your life, but more importantly, walk you through the practical steps of renovating your emotional and spiritual health. Our Pastors know exactly what you’re dealing with and have been right where you are. They’ve asked themselves the same questions you’re asking yourself now. Should I keep doing this? Can I keep doing this? Do I want to be a pastor anymore? What is missing from my life, my family, or my ministry that I need to find again? These are real questions that need real solutions. We’ve all been vulnerable at some point in our journey only to hear the religious jargon, “Pray about and God will help”. Though this answer is true, it may not be adequate for where you are. We want to make sure that you are receiving real help with available resources and encouragement when you need it. We want to provide you with access to a friend who is also a pastor that can walk with you through this season to help you get back into a healthy place of ministry. We know that when the Pastor and his family are healthy, so is the church.

What do you do when you’ve already fallen? Who can you trust to tell your secrets to? Where do you go when your marriage is in trouble? What we know is the silos of ministry make it feel impossible to trust people in your church, in your denomination, and even in your city. When we’re at our lowest or darkest place is when we need someone the most, and yet it seems to be when we find ourselves the most alone. Pastor to Pastor is a ministry built for times like this. Truth be told, the vast majority of the ministry that Pastor to Pastor provides is in this stage of pastor’s lives. This is a difficult space because so much is on the line for the pastor, their family, their church, and oftentimes for their legacy. On top of all of that, we know the conviction we feel in these seasons where we’re trying to minister to others knowing we’ve got some serious things we need to be dealing with. To know that we’ve fallen and we need help, but don’t know where to go means we just stay in an unhealthy pattern that we can’t seem to get ourselves out of. Oftentimes, this leads to us feeling stuck in the very thing we’re trying to get out of. Furthermore, who is going to help my family? Who is going to talk to the board and establish a plan of restoration for me and my family? Who can stand in my pulpit for a few weeks while I navigate this journey? Who can help the church navigate what to communicate and when to communicate it? Pastor to Pastor is here to help with that and we have experience in this area. We want to step into your life and become an Abishai for you and your family. We want to help protect you, guard you, secure you, and restore you so that you can finish the call of God on your life strong.
